An historic property and part of the largest family-owned and run luxury hotel group in the UK, the Athenaeum Hotel is housed in an Edwardian townhouse building with a sandstone façade and elegant bay windows. Throughout the interior, marble floors, period cornices and original fireplaces create an unimpeachable atmosphere of opulence. The medium sized lobby, with its polished wood and brass fittings, is very stylish and there is a reception and concierge desk available. The 111 guestrooms and 12 luxurious suites combine traditional English elegance with 21st century technology. Many have a stunning view overlooking Green Park towards Westminster and beyond, creating a feeling of tranquillity in the heart of London. But whichever room you choose you will enjoy the friendly and professional service the Athenaeum is renowned for. The hotel contains two restaurants. "Damask" serves modern British dishes enhanced by a Mediterranean influence. Its award-winning chef selects the freshest, finest ingredients and the menu includes organic produce from approved and carefully selected sources. Meanwhile, the "Garden Room" boasts a comfortable, country house atmosphere, although unlike a country house it's open 24 hours a day.
